New Year’s Resolutions: Write The Vision and Make it Plain

New Year’s resolutions are a hot subject of discussion around this season. A lot is said about them including how to make achievable goals and how to keep the momentum throughout the year. In equal measure, new year’s resolutions have received loads of criticisms and lately, a lot of us have been questioning their effectiveness. This has also come with talk about substituting the resolutions with short-term goals like weekly, monthly, or quarterly goals. Regardless of which side of the spectrum you fall, making God the focal point of your goals is essential. Proverbs 16:9 “A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps” urges us to commit anything we intend to do to the Lord.

From personal experience, I encourage writing plans and goals down at the beginning of the year. I believe that God encourages us to have a vision and set it clear. Some of them may look like uphill tasks and obstacles along the way may distract us. However, continuing to look to God for strength and clarity will keep us going in the New Year.  I hope we will be encouraged to set goals and commit them to God, The author, and perfector of our faith.

Habakkuk 2:2 “Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.

Have a Blessed Year ahead of you.
