What Scares You Most?

We can collectively agree that achieving most of our dreams is hindered by fear. We are constantly scared of many things: failure, disappointment, and sometimes even loss. Our fears may be innate or learned. Naturally, some of our innate fears may keep us safe from physical harm. On the contrary, some of our learned fears are our most significant inhibitions from achieving our dreams. Learned fears hold us captive and deceive us into staying within our comfort zones.

I would like us to reflect on all the chances we had to improve ourselves or others, but we failed to take them because something held us back. Maybe it was just a fleeting thought or a constant voice at the back of our heads reminding us we weren’t good enough. Whichever the case, it is essential that we recognize our fear and name it. Acknowledging that we are afraid of something is the first step towards conquering our fears. We must know that while no one is free from fear, those that do it scared make the difference. Acknowledge the existence of the fear but do it anyway!

Do it scared, do it afraid, and in all things remember that the Lord is our strength.

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10
